I don't join in enough to spread the word.
Man, really, did you NOT understand anything we discussed the last time??

Yeah, that's sad that apparently he missed completely the point and felt it was against him and his work (which IS enjoyable) and did not understand that was about the way he interact with this forum...
Indeed. So let me reiterate:
- If you're a member of the community, you're more than welcome to keep us up to date with your projects; that's what a community is, after all.
- If you're not a member of the community, in the sense that you participate in it (just having an account doesn't make you a member, really), you're more than welcome to announce your project and let us know about what you're working on.
- If you're not a member of the community but you feel that you can use it, along with several other media, as a platform to plaster with boilerplate announcements every time you release something, then you're not welcome.
I'd guess this is clear enough.
Guys, what can I say? I added an image, I do apologise. I thought that the issue last time was was the size of the image.
It's good to see old Chinnyvision getting a kick out of this though. Says a lot about the man I think.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the show.

Poor old Swainy. Didn't listen to a word last time instead decided to take pot shots at me. 6 months on, here we are again in the same situation. Please fetch me the worlds smallest violin.
Chinny, I'm not looking for sympathy... You do love to stick the boot in though, that is clear.
(I know I've done this joke before, but it's a corker!)

This time it's a slightly smaller image... more refined... more British!

Do I moderate this forum? Am I posting under several pseudonyms? Wasn't even aware you'd posted again until you got hit with the ban hammer. Not sure about your fixation with me.
You were told what the problem was. You stormed off under a cloud. You re-emerge 6 months later acting all innocent like nothing happened and with no lessons learned.
Personally it feels as if you have the problem with me. Taking to Twitter, posting about it.

I thought you wanted publicity?
Blanket spam a load of forums, expect no come back. Odd.
Nope. I don't want publicity.
As for "spamming a load of forums" I admit that I do post elsewhere when a new episode is published but I do tend to use those forums a lot more than here so the other places don't regard it as spamming.
In any case, this is no place for a public argument that will go nowhere. Gryzor has made the point clear, just stick to it and it will be fine :)

Yes, so? Do rules stop applying when it's in Other Retro or Off Topic?

Guess I missed the point here, saw his post after editing. Looks ok to me now. Do we have a "rules place" where we can look up rules?
Well, yes, we do have rules. These are described in three parts: the welcoming email new members get, here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etiquette_in_technology#Netiquette)and here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_sense) .
I don't find much sense in laying down numerous and specific rules; this will only irritate people and make them try to skirt them when they want to.
But your post brought my attention to the first post...
DUDE, SERIOUSLY, THAT'S WHAT YOU GOT FROM THE WHOLE DISCUSSION? THAT YOUR IMAGE WAS THE ONLY PROBLEM? ? ?
(For those who don't know what I'm talking about: @Swainy (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=589) re-edited the first post, adding his ad once again but only omitting the banner image)
Thanks for pointing that out. :)
Yes. I did think that was the only problem.
So, I can't link to anything no? Only I posted a link to our previous episode a few weeks back and that hasn't been deleted? I guess you had better find and edit that too.
Man, I really can't make it any simpler than this:

Well I do try to participate, obviously it's not as often as you would like.
Anyway, point taken.
I saw Swainy post a few (non-spam, actual discussion) threads so to me it seems like he is making an effort in participating.

Those were created straight after Gryzor pulled his ad and told him why it wasn't appropriate here. Take a look through his posts over the last few months/years. He pretty much comes here to get free advertising for his podcast.
Maybe so but it shows he listened and made an effort to contribute.
Actually I joined ages ago as I had an interest in the CPC range and I bought a 6128 and needed some advice as the disc drive belt needed replacing. After that I also bought a GX4000 and have taken part in a few discussions and even bought the CPR device on the strength of this forum.
Looking back, I also posted about the remake of Double Dragon that I was working on for the ZX Spectrum which I thought some people might be interested in.
I've mentioned this forum on the podcast a good few times, recommending to people. I honestly felt as if I was part of the community but obviously I was wrong.
You are a part of the community, maybe you have done things people don't like but everyone does stuff others don't like. Only what Markus or Gryzor says carries any weight around here, anyone else is just spouting their own opinion.
I can understand the issue regarding the spam, but there are people here (as there are everywhere) who enjoy causing trouble. I don't think they care so much about the spam, as much as having an excuse to put the boot in.

Yes, you used to post other stuff too, then you started posting ads exclusively. If you stayed an active member then cool, no problem, but... the fact that you were once active doesn't give you a lifetime pass; I think it only makes sense.

...and when he actually has contributed, and keeps on doing so, he can share his news. But yes, I see what you mean.

Care to elaborate on this?
The way I'm reading it:
-there are people here causing trouble, but I do nothing about them?
-I don't care about spam?
-I just use it as an excuse to... what, beat up someone who's already down? (which would contradict the first point, because if I was looking for an excuse I *would* "put the boot in" with people causing trouble).
I truly don't get your comment.
I was not talking about you Gryzor. Not everything CPC-related happens on here. Swainy knows what I am referring to.
I still don't understand, but okay :D I took it that "they" referred to me and Markus, since you referenced us before. No worries!
Guys, the last thing I want to do is cause a rift between any of you.
At the end of the day, I've done wrong. I didn't realise but I'll try to be more active in future as a community member from now on.
I won't make any posts about the podcast as it's clearly an issue with some members.

I see what you say here, but this is several hours long retro/Amstrad related / community related recordings that it has been quite an effort to make. I believe it can be interesting to many here. Maybe he could have just one thread where he informs us of new recordings and what they are about, leaving out the picture if they are a problem.

I agree on that; I wouldn't object to updates when there's CPC-related materials, for sure.
Amen to that. :)
