This is the new "Amiga" by the new "Commodore".

Now, what the f*ck does it have in common with the old Amiga, save the logos? Beats me. And the specs?
3.5GHz Sandy Bridge Core i7 CPU, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 GPU, 16GB of RAM, a Blu-ray drive, and a 1TB hard drive. All this for... $2.500!!! Haaaahahahaha!
Also, the C64x Supreme. Now this looks much better of course:
[attach=3]
But... 2.13GHz Dual Core Intel Atom CPU, 512MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 graphics card, 1TB hard drive, and 4GB of RAM. An *Atom* computer, yikes. For $1300.
Well maybe it comes with WinUAE pre-installed? Did they mention what Kickstart Version it has?
Bryce.
Damn, I lost the source, but it comes with a Linux flavor and a "remake of apps", whatever that means.

Amiga... still inferior to the CPC! :P :P :P
Commodore, Amiga, etc are dead since long time ago. This is only a company that bought the names...

@Ced64: yes, of course. That's why it sounds a bit shameful to use their name in such a way...
@ralferoo: looks like a skinnes OS or something, pretty nice but still noone in their right minds will use it, or fork over $2500 for the privilege! Nice collection of games, I wonder if they're built-in. I'd like someone to rip it so I could run it just for the heck of it :D

Yeah, it's supposed to just be some linux variant. Getting stuff of it should be trivial (assuming anyone actually buys one in the first place).
At least they should have shipped it with AROS :P
Well, turns out that... Commodore USA (http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_OS_Vision_Download.aspx)
At least they're sensible in that!!!
The case is sold for $350... But, you can buy the same unbranded for $70.
And the content was a $600 PC... Poor "Amiga" world.
I hope Natami with Aros come true... Hurry Up !!!
Do they really sell the case (I guess we're talking Amiga here)?? Ain't $350 a bit steep??
If you do have a place where I could get it for $70, even unbranded, please tell me...
Most people in the Amiga arena are just totally ignoring these systems from Commodore USA. There is a lot of arguing on the forums, as you'd expect.
Oddly enough the CPC is probably getting more interesting releases than the classic Amiga, for which the main game release recently is a game called Mr Beanbag.
Hopefully the FPGA Arcade will bring some more classic development along - and hopefully there will be a CPC core for it too.

@Briggsy: you're right, and I was discussing this with MugUK - I think development on the 16-bit platforms (ST, Amiga) has fallen much behind that of the 8-bitters. Strange, and unfortunate...
@TotO: oh, thanks so much! I've been looking for something like that!!!
Looking the "Amiga" picture, the embosses logos and Commodore "CDTV like" sticker are "photoshoped".
And through the DVD slot, you see the computer is empty. XD
Who want to buy an overprised fantom computer? :D
Is that case big enough to put a GX4000 PCB inside?, just need to cut a slot in the top to put the cartridge in, then we can taunt the Commodore amiga users with it. :P :P
Yeah, I had noticed the 'shopped logos, but the empty box... wow. Talk about fail :D

Look that customer preorder and pay for the overall process... The product don't exist.

Yeah... 4-6 weeks. Something tells me it's gonna stay like tha ("4-6 weeks") for a while!
Meanwhile, I noticed they also have a cute VIC PC-in-a-keyboard model. Nothing to do with the VIC, of course, but at least the form factor is nice.
