QuoteThe last BIG story of the day and one I think tops all others in terms of retro style news, is Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick's upcoming Adventure game ' Thimbleweed Park ', has been announced as coming to Windows, Mac, Xbox One, and Linux, March 30th! From the creators of the incredible LucasArts classic Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island, comes a new indie adventure with all the charm, look and feel of the golden age of adventuring.

So, anyone played it?

I did, and it was the most fun I've had in quite a while :)

I have played it. Good game, even if the end feels a bit rushed.

I enjoyed it immensely, in some ways I was satisfied before I even played the game because all the information they posted during the development process was really interesting.

Actually I found the ending quite moving myself. Perhaps the 'rushed' feeling comes from the fact that it was the easiest part of the game, but I think they just wanted to resolve the drama and tell the whole story instead of focusing on puzzle solving...

Yeah, but a lot of story arcs are half closed or even forgotten...

That was a criticism I saw in some places, but I disagree; in my mind it showed maturity and flexibility.

...but that's a personal taste. I like stories that are open ended or don't explain everything to me. I like being able to imagine things and reach my own conclusions. I don't like being force-fed everything the author has thought about the story arc, so that was actually a plus in my book.

Well, there are open ending and completely thrown away arc... But like you said, it's a personal taste.

Yeah, I was half expecting it to get very frustrating but it actually plays pretty well. Probably because there is just a lot less "pixel hunting" than in the old LucasArts days so you don't really need the level of control you can get with a mouse.

Hehe, even the specks of dust are quite large and reasonably visible. I didn't get all of them, but then I was mostly ignoring them until triggering one of the collection achievements, after which I paid more attention.

A good excuse to go back and play it all over again when the sun goes back in.

Yeah, it got the best out of my OCD and in the end I couldn't find them all... but it was a great side-quest!
