QuoteThis is just madness, in just one week we've had the classic Manic Miner released for the Atari XL/XE, Ocean Software's 1987 isometric hit game 'Head Over Heels', which was remade for the MSX2, and now Ultimate Play The Game's 1986 of ' Pentagram ', has finally been released as a port for the Atari 8bit by Mariuszw. If you don't remember the game Pentagram, It is the fourth in the Sabreman series, following on from his adventures in Sabre Wulf, Underwurlde and Knight Lore and was played in an isometric viewpoint.

U-hu, what happened to the colors? Atari should have some 130 or so?!?
This needs to be ported to the CPC too.
...with colours.
Or PCW.
In green.
"Pentagram is a ZX Spectrum (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZX_Spectrum) and MSX (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSX) video game (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game) released by Ultimate Play The Game (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Play_The_Game) in 1986 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_in_video_gaming)."
So a port to CPC should be way more straightforward then to ATARI, I suppose.

not in that screen mode it doesnt. the a8 can only do 2 colours in 320x200 from its palette.
those additional bits of colour are being provided by the hardware sprites
in fact it may surprise most of you on here that the A8 can only do 4 colours (excluding sprites and raster splits) for its backgrounds in 160x200. it has quite a large palette but lacks the screen modes to use them as well as either the c64 or the amstrad.

I thought the Atari port had already been done.

well, truth. no one feels like "what ? they did it to another architecture and we have none ? let's do it"

Actually, I was just stirring you up about your mis-use of the word "then".
I'm sure this game would be a relatively straight-forward port to Z80, and graphically the CPC could easily do it.
Anyone willing to recolor and update zx spectrum graphics and the title screen from Pentagram into cpc mode 1?

I suggest you start another thread and ask in "games" or "programming categor or ask one of the known graphic artists here
