I have :
- a CPC 6128 (CRTC 1) + CPC Booster + RAMCARD 128Kb + HxC Rev B
- a CPC 6128+ (CRTC 3) + MegaFlash + HxC Rev C
And because there is not only CPC in life .. :D .. there is also Commodore of course ;)
- an Amiga 600 with 32Mb FAST RAM + 2Mb Chip RAM + ACA630/25 (68030 @ 25Mhz) + Indivision ECS + Flashdrive 4Gb + registered WHDLOAD (lots of fun with this machine ;-)
- a C64 + Chameleon 64 (providing SDCard reading + VGA Output)
Not to mention all these computers are PAL-based (I'm living in North America, remember it's supposed to be NTSC-only here !).
You know what ? I love being a lover of all of retro-computing in 2011 !! Hardware is so incredible nowadays.. it's actually way more interesting (to me at least !) to get into these machines now than it was back in the days...
- some CPC6128
- 6128 Plus
- PCW8256, 8512, 9512
- Genie IIIs (probably one of the fastest Z80 systems officially sold ever, only the next one is as quick...
- PCW16
- LOS25
Well, and a lot of hardware-expansions for the CPC.
This would take ages...
-CPC464s/664s/6128s/Plus464x2/Plus6128x2/NC100/NC200/Penpad

-VCS Heavy Sixer
-Mattel Aquarius
-Dreamcast (of course; with a nice smoke grey case)
-Some gameboys
-MAME arcade cab with a lovely Hantarex monitor
-Vectrex
-Couple of generic Pong machines
...and a ton of others I'm forgetting. Don't even ask for accessories etc!
Also a short summary, I won't list everything here:
1x CPC464 UK
2x CPC6128 DE
1x CPC6128+ FR
1x GT65
3x Atari 800XL

I have:

1x GBA SP
1x GBA micro

1x Dingoo
and quite a few calculators; most of them TI calcs and an HP.
+ the fitting peripherals (HxC, 1541, ...), and quite a few games, but nothing out of the extraordinary I guess.
Save for a few further game consoles and a Spectrum, I'll most probably leave it at that. For one, I'd like to use them still, instead of just collecting them, and there's only so many you can use. Plus, I'm running out of space fast, since almost all of it is in my room, not in the basement (exception: 1 Joyce and 1 GT65).
Mine's even shorter again...
1 x French 6128 Plus (QWERTY keyboard installed), 3.5" Drive, Side Switch, Bryce DIY Cartridge, Bryce S-Video Modulator, Bryce MegaFlash
1 x English 6128 Plus (AZERTY keyboard installed), 3" Drive

Well ! !Most of my machines does actually come from planed computer museum. To make a long story short, a local fella was ten times worse than me. Besides computers, he did also collect magazines (doesn't know if it was computer magazines ! !), cameras and weapons. His entire house, garage and an extra building was filled up with his collections. YES, he was married :o
His plan was to make the computer museum in connection with the local university (NTNU in Trondheim). They did establish a fast working committee, that's probably still working on the project ::) When his external storage was sold (8-10 years ago), he had to get rid of his computers stuff. The machines was announced in a Norwegian newsgroup, and I did visit him 3-4 times, and filled up me car every time ;D
Unfortunately, his machines weren't stored as complete machines. So several of the
"exotic" machines are only machines, without PSU, leads and software.
I'm working on the project of completing the machines 8)
The really sad thing, is that he had even more machines I
"now" wanted :'(

Sounds like a treasure trove to me...
95% of all 8-Bit machines can be powered using a PC PSU with a simple adapter. The other 5% that need AC or -12V are slightly more difficult, but not impossible.

Hmm, just from memory : msx2, oric 1, oric atmos, too many CPC keyboards (1 full CPC+ but only 2 CPC screens), too many things about Amstrad CPC, PDA600, Notepad NC100, 150 and 200, C128D, SNES, sega saturn, dreamcast, gamecube, xbox1, xbox360 (6 months ago only), PS3, DS light (given to my sister), DSi XL, 3DS, PSP1000 and 3000, too many console games bought and so few time to play them...
I fear to check all my room, the list could be too long for one forum message o.O

Bufff,i lost the most part of my retro hardware in my first independence :-[ , the victims were my A500 030 50Mhz, A1200 Blizzard 030 50Mhz, CD32, MSX2 Philips 8245, ZX +3, ZX +2A, 464 CRTC 0, 6128 CRTC 1, 6128+.
Lucky me, i didn't lost my consoles ;D :
.- Gameboy Classic, Colour and Advanced, all with writables cartridges and cables for developing.
.- Gamecube with chip for developing.
.- Dreamcast with the broadband adaptor, for developing too :P (but mainly use this days for BorderDown :D , i love this game ;D )
What i don't find is my old PSX with Action Replay/Caetla for developing, of course xDDD
But in computers i only have an Atari 800XL (in not a good state, but it's my little Amiga ;)) and two 6128s (CRTC 2 y 4) courtesy of CPCManiaco.

In my case, I see them on ebay at very low prices and I cannot resist buying them, also, the machines will not be available so easily for ever so I want several so I always have a working machine .
Then again, I want to write programs and it is important (I think) to be able to test the software on all models, and if possible most popular add-ons.

This reminded me: Tokyo had sent us a mock up, which was wooden with black lacquer, and it had something in it (lead, probably) to give it the proper weight. I remember each one of us in Marketing picking it up and going "are they effin' serious??" :D

I prefer the original PS3 - had a nice 'serious piece of kit' feel to it, much like an original VHS Video Recorder or something.
The slimline ones are just, well, there.

Those 360 has a EXTREME high rep for going bad quickly within a year with the "red ring of doom". Most of the hardcore 360 players i know has had to replace their 360 at least 3 times since launch. I must admit i play the 360 quite casually and mostly use it for HDDVD playback. Anyways its not good for a console when it crashes so much that the users themselves invent their own ways to repair them.
Quote from: norecess on 18:01, 21 September 11

Well, i do recall the first a500 i got had a fairly dodgy drive so i got a second just to be sure (i like 2 have a spare just in case). But the main reason i have so many A500 (and 5x C64 and 10x+ 464) is that the local auctions is usually in "collection" format .. aka people sell "commodore" collection 2xA500 +3xC64 +equipment +games and i spot a Action Replay 3 or similar item i want and as the whole thing is sold for like £20-30 because the seller sells it as "donno if it works". The last 664 i got was in a odd sega console bundle.
Good thing i only listed the working systems above too ;D

- I'm already an owner of a Sega NOMAD (which is like a Game Gear, excepted it can play Genesis games : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Nomad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Nomad))
- But since last Saturday, I'm also now an owner of a TurboDuo ! Which is a PC-Engine/TurboGraphx from Nec with CD and some additional features... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurboDuo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurboDuo)
Games are really nice, it feels like SuperNES (not technically, but in the mood). And most of games are unique to the console, cf. not licensed somewhere else. There are really good games!
Both of those consoles have only been released in Japan/North America (not in Europe).
TurboDuo, the godfather of PS3 ;D
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/PC_Engine_Duo.jpg)
I assume you've already started porting those games to the CPC? :D
Bryce.
Ahaha!
On the TurboDuo, the CPU is 8bits but the graphic chip is 16 bits.
My preferred game to date is that one : Riot Zone / CREST OF WOLF 狼的紋章 (Turbo Duo, 1993) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksZdM9TE8mE#)
It really feels like an arcade game, I mean, the arcade games I used to love to.
And ah, all these sites dealing with reviews... they are good helpers, but should not be taken like a golden list. I mean, Riot Zone is not a game highly acclaimed by TurboDuo owners. And I don't care :P
PS. And please, don't tell me as answer "Street of Rage" blablabla. I love TurboDuo because of its unique licenses ! Not the games that everyone already know! :)

Got to the point now where I am missing a few atari consoles and very expensive "rare" machines like the 6128+ , X80, Lisa, Enterprise etc.
oh I forgot to add my newly acquired fully boxed Atari 65XE ... ;D

I'll swap one of my 2 Pluses for your lot. ;D
If we move into a smaller house, I may take you up on that !!
@Redbox: Your generosity knows no bounds.
Call me mad, but it was the Acorn Electron that got me drooling :D It was actually a heap of shite, but for some twisted reason I've always wanted one.

So do i!!! :D I can not explain it, but always i have a weak spot by the Electron.
Robcfg has a wonderful specimen in his collection, too :D
It there anybody out there who has a GenieIIIs (like me)?
Anything that's *New* enough to have had two previous versions is too new for me :D

Same here too! Something about the look and feel of it is just really cool. I remember there was an ice lolly called the megabyte in the 80s and it had a competition to win an Electron if you collected enough wrappers to send in. Ate loads to try and win one, but never did :(
talking of the electron, i got a decent boxed one this year with the tape drive, but for the life of me cant find any Electron tape leads/cables. They are impossible to find. The one with a DIN connector on each end.
I'm sure the pinout is available somewhere online, just make one.
Bryce.
ah just found some for sale with a "google" search whatever that is :-[
That "google" thing seems to be similar to "cat", but for the internet, I've come across it recently too.
Bryce.
If you guys really want an Electon, I might be able to get hold of one as I was offered one just a few weeks ago.
I was told by a friend who's into all things Acorn who told me if I was considering it for programming, that I shouldn't even bother due to the memory contention with all the video modes worth using. He was also in the same town as the person giving it away (and knows him too) and couldn't be bothered...
So, I can see if it's still available, although I might not be visiting the guy with it for another few months now. Also, there's a chance it's just been binned because it was his parents clearing out the loft. The real tragedy is that his 6128 was missing from the loft (he was going to give me it for free!) although apparently there is an MP2 modulator with my name on it... :)
Also khisanth, Maplins sells 5-, 6- and 7-pin DIN plugs, so you should easily be able to knock up a replacement tape lead for your Electron. The pin-out is here: http://www.retrocomputers.eu/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/acorn-pinouts.pdf (http://www.retrocomputers.eu/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/acorn-pinouts.pdf.).There's also at least one website that sells them ready made...

thanks! :)
Sorry Andy, the link got auto-htmlified without me noticing it'd included the full stop in the url... I've corrected my post now too to avoid any confusion. Thanks for providing the resources in the first place... :)

IIs = ECB
IIIs = 5 exp sockets on PCB
A III doesn't necesserily mean that there were two versions before. Also the 464 haven't had 463 versions before
The GenieIIIs was released with the CPC, but has two 8MHz Z80 cpus, two pios, two sios, half a mb of ram. text-mode and gfx mode at the SAME time. 512 x 512 resolution. The most powerful Z80 computer ever! was cheap, only 20.000 Mark. I got ity for 500. What apity that you don't know it. This machine is great :)

I thought you were referring to an Eaca Video Genie III. What kind of Genie III is yours??

Back in the 80's a
friend Idiot C64 owner I knew, thought he was really funny by saying the 464 was the Customer No. ie: they'd only sold that many...
No... It wasn't funny back then either.
Bryce.
It's a TCS GenieIIIs... but the 8 MHz version, most had 7.2 MHz. Mine worked as a high-end medical work-station to get pictures of the brain using ultrasonic and so on. You will not find much in the net. But here just one link:

I still don't like this folks... understandable ;-)
The obvious C64 comeback is that C64 is the length of tape you need to store a game on because the tape loading is so slow.
The obvious Spectrum comeback is that the 48 in Spectrum 48 is how many keys you need to try before you find the LOAD key.
I think my comebacks were also tape loading related, ie: telling him to start loading Thursday, so that we could play the game on Saturday. With the Spectrum the 48 was how many times you had to try before it actually loaded. The +2 / +3 was the age or IQ or the average user.

YES! I knew it. :D
That GenieIII looks really cool.
Our computer-related school insults didn't get much past the "Crummodore/Spamstrad" name calling. :D

I can't understand very much on the first link -does it say that it was also a computer marketed by Eaca and similar to any of the previous Genies??
I don't have any dupes to swap right now, but it you plan to exchange or sell any of your Genie III, please let me know! :-)
Btw, the list of the computers and consoles I own is here (http://zonadepruebas.org/deepfb/ordenadores/ordenadores.htm) :-D
Well EACA was first, after them TCS was formed. I only have one GenieIIIs (not III). And sorry I don't give it away. But your collection is really like a museum :-)
