Hi together,
I made a helpful BASIC-tool, called 'FontGen'.
This program can convert a screen-file to a BASIC listing including SYMBOL definitions for a character range.
It stores the font as ASCII on your disk, and can be loaded as a normal BASIC prog.
Watch FontGen converting a screen here:

You can download the attached DSK.
Have fun!

Looks a nice little program ... what would you recommend for making the font, just a normal graphics app?

This would be your personal choice.
On CPC you could use OCP Art Studio or other softs.
I used a windows program and I also had the spectrum font as TTF in windows\fonts\ folder.
After making my screen, I converted it using ConvImgCPC. (amstradeus.com)
Nice little app, I hope coders out there use it... quite ingenious, wish this existed back in the day...
