Title: Hiring musician/sfx for a small game
Post by: SagaDS on 18:23, 24 January 23
Hello,

I don't know if its the place to do it, tell me...

I have developed a winesweeper clone in C with CPCTelera. But I lack knowledge on ArkosTracker to add some music/SFX (and I'm so noob at it :-[ ). So if someone can help me put some noise into this gem ;D , he will be welcome (and of course I will put his name on it).

If you want to have a look of the progress (0.8), here is a small video here: https://youtu.be/zdfI5pzd2gw

I might also ask some beta testing here at some point. Tell me if you are interested.

Another option would be, if you download the Arkos Tracker application for Windows, in the "SKSSongs" folder you have many sample melodies available that could be reused if you can't find a composer.

If you contact the author (Targhan, Tom & Jerry, etc) you can ask for permission (to inform him and put the credits), I think to remember that it was the only thing he required.

Thx for the hint. I will put some placeholders first...

I saw Sudoku themes by Tom&Jerry, it should do the trick if I don't find someone. The first music is integrated, I will add more soon... Yet, still need some digging/nope/explosion SFX...

Also Benny told me (from youtube) to have a look inside http://indiegamemusic.com to see if a CPC tune can be useful from there. Seems nice also and maybe less used.

Hello,

Just a small update on the topic. I have started to work with gamecomposer (@chasebethea) on the gameplay score and other musics.

So no more hiring right now. Thanks for all the proposal, they were welcomed.

See you soon with a finished game that I hope you will play.

Hello,

I am now entering the final phase of the project... Testing. So if anyone wants to participate (real hardware and emulators), please send me an mp with what you propose to test, I will send you the dsk / cdt file accordingly.
Think: 464 / 664 / 6128 / +, Emulators, Disk / Tape / Tape on disk env, Mouse / Joystick, Other hardware that I don't have (Multiface / M4 / etc...). To check that everything runs fine as much as possible before release.

Here is a glimpse of the project so far (disk version on WinApe) :

I already know that High Score saving has a small graphical glitch due to firmware re-enabled.

See you soon for the release.
