Oh yes, Locomotive BASIC rocks. A very good implementation for that time, and yes, good and solid firmware instructions for that use case.

Indeed, sometime I wish the CPC BASIC would not have been so great... I might have started with Z80 assembly programming much earlier then! But with such an awesome BASIC it delayed my transition quite a bit  :D

Oooh yes.


For fun, some time ago I had used a BASIC program to draw winners for some corporate competitions we did on Facebook. Because -IIRC- the built-in random number generator is not so random I had found some program online and used that in WinAPE. Still, it was so fast I had to slow emulation down for some effect :D
