Is the CPC need that? What are the benefits?

Well to allow the CPC to access devices using this format..

Also the open nature of this project is also interessting  :)

That's a great project! Even if some will never understand and stay lucky with 169 KB System format on 3" discs.

Sorry, but CPC don't need to support 2To files and 16To disk.
EXT2/3 was not designed to be used on a 8bit computer. (waste to much CPU time on a Z80)
Using compatible FAT16/32 file system is far enough and more useful for managing floppy, harddrive and card on it.

Rubbish! Even FAT runs well on CPC (see SOS). And to have a hard-disc is just great.  8)  Finally the EXT2/3 makes it all even better!

Just leave this project alone if you don't like it, other already do like it.

given that fat16/32 is available for most OS's it would seem a moot point to implement EXT2/3 on the CPC, since FAT make transfers possible between systems (such as MS/Linux/Apple).

However, it may seem plausible that HDOS could be upgraded to allow for Ext2/3 as well (via an extension rom).

On CPC, I'm not coder, it's you...

And, if you never see "serious" program of me, it's just because I done useful things for my jobs on PC, like that:

And please... Stop to think I'm bad.
I'll no more post here. Sorry for the topic.

Cheers.
