On the contrary, don't hesitate. It's always nice to see a CPC game working on a different system ;)

Quote from: norecess464 on Today at 15:48Computers: not really a "collection". I have many Amstrads and an (upgraded) Amiga 600, which I keep mainly for comparison with the Amstrad CPC models. I love the Amiga -- it has some of the same games as the CPC, but with a different feel, and not always for the better. But I hate the much longer loading times on the Amiga.

Consoles: NES, SNES, MegaDrive+32X+SegaCD, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, (original) Xbox. I have no preference, they all provide excellent games!

In the past, I actually got much more (NeoGeo CD, CD32, TurboDuo, Atari ST, C64, an A500...); but I decided to refocus on what I really loved and sold the rest.
I am not really a gamer but yeah if I could go back in time I'd love to live the years when Dreamcast and PSX came out. I had no idea Amiga had slower loading times

Or how old do they have to be, to call it a collection?

It's not so much about the quantity but more about the quality. What other systems get your attention?

Quote from: spikemorrissey on Yesterday at 21:43Thank you for the reply. I downloaded RVM and created the machine but how do I load the games please?

The machine has to be a CPC664 or CPC6128 (cpc464 for tapes CDT). You can drag and drop the DSK file inside the blue screen. Or in the upper menu there is a floppy icon. By pressing, two disk drives appears. You can drop at the lower drive (the upper is the 2nd or B: drive).
Also you have at the lower right the button for the disk menu appears, to insert/eject , create (new) or explore disc.
After insert the disk you write CAT to view the directory, and RUN" name of the file for execute it.
Thank you,

That saves as a .rvm file instead of a .sna - will that still work with the Dandanator please?

You are right, the new RVM v2.1.20 is different.
I'm using the "RVM v2.0 Beta-1 r7 version", because it has developer functions. It saves state like .SNA (the only option), does not have .rvm option.

And I tried that .SNA file under Winape and same machine config (CPC664 with OS664+BASIC664+AMSDOS) and it works, it's compatible. With other setups it fails.

But still I don't have CPC Dandanator (I'm making one), only ZX, I think it works similar. In my experience the snapshot must be done in same emulated machine for the real HW target connected to the Dandanator.

Quote from: iXien on Today at 12:53Are you planning any other developments for Sugar CPC, such as Amstrad Plus support or vertical resizing to be able to play overscanned games like Arkanoid or Tempest 8) ?

Amstrad Plus support is on my list... but not immediately.
You can play overscanned games by scaling the screen. Use the L/R shoulder buttons with the d-pad to position (offset) or scale the screen. And make use of the PAN UP/DOWN feature by mapping those to some otherwise unused DS buttons... this will let you instantly pan the screen up/down briefly while you hold the button and it will smooth-scroll back into place. This works really well for games that have status/score at the very top/bottom where you can safely place it just off screen while you concentrate on the main playing area on the DS screen and then tap the PAN UP/DOWN button to get a glimpse of it.
And thanks for the kind words!!
A "bit" stretch, of course :D But it's nice to be able to play it too 8)

Hopefully I won't be overstaying my welcome here if I introduce another topic. What other computers are you guys collecting or playing with , other than Amstrad CPCs? I'll go first, I have a pretty sizable collection of older unix hardware (mostly Sun/SGI) , a few amigas and my faithful old C128
