"don't be more trouble than you're worth."

Whoa, this should be in the registration agreement! I'm stealing the quote :)

Actually, there was a pretty clear policy shown upon registration about being nice to each other and loving trees and being one with nature and all that, strangely it appears it has changed - probably with some software upgrade. Hm.

Morning there!

Not sure what post you're referring to, but it doesn't matter I guess!

I see what you're saying and it does make sense; in effect we are enforcing something of the sort - bans are progressive, and sometimes we implement moderation *before* the first, short ban. However, it's very hard to do a "clear policy", because not one size fits all. How can one judge the levels of offense beforehand so as to lay down the rules?

What do you even mean by "strikes"? Gryzor has rarely taken action except in egregious cases, and usually when there's been abuse via PM. Just because whatever posts still remain public may not appear to be bad, doesn't mean the action isn't justifiable.
There's no need for official policies, after all this forum is 100% a benevolent dictatorship and the rule has always been pretty consistently "don't be more trouble than you're worth."

Hi Gryzor (and the other moderators),

This is not specific to the posts from @GUNHED regarding VintageAdvantage but was prompted by them.
Should there by a clear policy of say "three strikes and you're out" on this?
Maybe with bans lasting 3/6/12 months depending on the level of offense caused?

Very interesting chips...
What do you think of the SAM5504B?
It is used into the Dream Blaster (X2) expansion sold by SerdaShop. (I have bought one using the 2295 for tests 5 years ago)
The board is designed to be used with a Wave Blaster connector to extend the audio capabilities of any PC sound board or compatible (Atari ST MIDI, ...). The Dream IC are tiny and can't be soldered outside an industrial process.

Demos / Dechavane House Music by Titan (Eric Cubizolle)
« Last post by ComSoft6128 on Today at 08:53 »

French demo from the late eighties/early nineties using digitized sound samples created using the House Music System by ESAT Software.
In this video I play the demo at normal speed then at two slower speeds and then back again to the original setting.
I then play (x2) some of the other shorter samples.

CPCWiki Discussion / Re: About VintageAdvantage ban
« Last post by GUNHED on Today at 04:27 »
Yes, the producer of lots of decent stuff for the CPC. However it wasn't that easy for him here.

Let me elaborate on this ... but in general.

What's the purpose of this forum here?

One could agree to... share ideas, software, hardware and great new/old times in common. Using synergy effects, especially creating projects for the CPC.

Of course this works best (or only?) in a positive way. Now, we're sadly no CPCs, we just biological units called humans. However we do have mind, spirit, soul and psychology.
Therefore we all(!) do have days which are good and that other kind of days. No one knows the reason behind, because we do not meet in person.

Now, if (excuse the open words) somebody has a really bad day and eventualle gets pi**ed off, then what would be the right way to handle that?
IMHO the best thing is to support people by telling something like "Hey friend, did you have a bad day? Can we all take a deep breath. Or ... Hey, let's see what do we have in common... and so on.

Again IMHO the forum shouldn't be a place to take out negative things - for nobody!
So, if somebody has a bad day, then LET US BE SUPPORTIVE, and not destructive.  :)

Third time IMHO, things could be handled here a bit more positive. Yes, we are a big community, but the way is not to ban.

- Every negative post is the wrong way.
- Every bad answer is the wrong way.
- Every warning is the wrong way.
- Especially every ban is a wrong way.

Instead of negative means, we should work together as a community - and especially when opinions collide, we should moderate. But moderation is being of help, not to ban.

So, why don't we take all all things not a bit more lightweight? It would enhance all of our CPC related projects.

Consider what (persons) we lost already. It's a pity.
