Not a problem at all, Henrique and his team are great guys, it's all fine :)

Quote from: eto on Today at 09:14it doesn't really make a difference compared to emulation. Sure it's not emulation - but it feels like emulation.
It's a very compact and high quality machine with a great design, so when visiting 8bit meetings, it won't use too much space, but still feels good. Now with all the new cores it has another big advantage IMHO.

Quote from: eto on Today at 09:14Btw: is the keyboard quality good?
I would say yes, it's very good. You can see it in real, if you visit the Classic Computing this year  :P
Only issue with the keyboard is, that somehow all keys are shifted by one to the right due to the ZX Spectrum + like design, so you need a little bit time for getting used to it.

Did you ever measure the voltage your expansion cards on the MX4 see on its ICs?

Then compare it to the voltage the CPC gets directly at the switch and on its ICs.

If you see (far) below 5v everywhere your monitor can't deliver the power for all cards and the voltage will drop. A stronger 5V power supply would then be first try.

If only the cards see (much) less than 5V then it could the resistance of the connector. If it worked before your connection might be the issue. Maybe it became dirty or oxidize. This could be resolved by cleaning the connections with alcohol and/or a fiber glass pen.

Or - if that doesn't help - by applying the 5V directly to the MX4. There should be version with a 5.5mm plug so you can use a splitter cable to power the CPC and MX4 from the same source.

I'm not sure if using different 5V sources for the MX4 and the CPC is a good idea. I've read from people who don't have any issues with it but also some warnings not to do it. But even Amstrad themself kind of did it with the DDI-1 which was powered from the drive.

Quote from: salvogendut on Today at 05:17Honestly? I don't like the idea. Speccy is speccy and CPC is CPC. What would be your say if they did the same with C64? But I am glad that it reached the target. It's gonna be interesting to see this new platform and explore its potential
They are also doing it with the C64 (and ZX81 and Sam Coupé).

The more interesting general concept might be that future versions of the Next board could be housed in different casings. It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to put it inside a 464 style case (or perhaps a 6128 plus which is a bit more compact).

I am tempted...

I don't see a point to replicate a system that I have anyway and due the downsides of not having an expansion port or the right keyboard layout (for me) it doesn't really make a difference compared to emulation. Sure it's not emulation - but it feels like emulation.

but at the same time the Next core is an 8bit system I would have dreamed of in the 80s.

Btw: is the keyboard quality good?

i want one that does it in 8 degrees or so, clockwise and anticlockwise

i dont mind if the edges get cut off when it rotates, btw

any ideas?

i know that i would probably have to use shearing to do this, which would be faster

i also know that i would use 256 segments instead of 360 as the cpc deals with this number alot better, so it would be 32 segments at 8 degrees each

and written in basic
