So, the "untested" 464 Plus that I procured with a bunch of Atari stuff shows a black screen when powered on (using 5V PSU and scart cable to CRT TV). Power LED comes on and tape deck will FF/REW and play but no video output.
The unit didn't come with a cartridge - would this result in a black screen if no cart was present? I'm trying to work out if it's worth spending any more money on the unit (I've already purchased video and power cables) if this sounds like scrap already.

Black screen is expected without cartridge.
Thanks. I'd seen other threads that referred to a white screen so I wasn't sure if it was faulty or not. Now to try and find a cartridge at a reasonable price.
