Title: Replacing DDI-1 floppy ribbon cable?
Post by: littlangel on 09:45, 09 June 20
Hi, so I would like to do the DDI-1 modification to use a 3.5 drive (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DDI_Modification), but I dont want to damage the cable. Is there a way I could just replace it in case I do something wrong? would removing the pins on the 3.5 drive work instead? thank you.

If you are only connecting a single 3.5in to the DDI-1 you can connect it to the connector nearest the interface, this already has the pins removed. However, without a 3in drive connected on the end connect, the DDI-1 will have no power getting to it, so you would need to make a bridge inside the interface to give it power from the CPC.

Bryce.
