"I would say this is the best 8bit version - not the hyped up Speccy version and definitely not the C64 version - the CPC is where it's at. Get this game now and see what you're missing out on."

"After reading recent comments about Bomb Jack, I thought I must be wrong about this game, as everyone on here constantly raves about it. So I sat down and had a marathon game fest on all three original versions i.e. real machines, no emulation. Graphically, imho the CPC version is the weakest of the three due to a smaller screen and badly drawn backgrounds, and why no music? It does feature good use of colour and maintains a fast pace. The Speccy for me plays just as good, but with the addition of music and very detailed sprites. The C64 is also good and features the arcade music. However; the sprites and use of colour look a wee bit ill defined but still manage to look better than the CPC. The C64 version also features a bigger screen and a brilliant soundtrack of the arcade music. This doesn't mean the CPC version is crap, just not as polished. The CPC version plays just as good as all the other versions and if you're lucky/sad enough to run all three versions at the same time, you'll quickly realise that my points are valid and although the CPC version plays well, it looks a bit nobby in comparison to the others. I think too many people compare screenshots and just take the opinion it's the best because the still shots look better, when they haven't even played the other versions. "

"The CPC version of this game is proably the best. Don`t believe the hype behind the Speccy and C64 versions, the CPC version kicks butt!"
