Was this ever released or vaporware?  Does anyone have one to sell or trade with me?

Also, does anyone have the following they want to sell or trade with me?

- Vortex Memory Expansion
- Dobbertin HDD
- 4 floppy drive interface

The PC emulator was tested in a computer magazine. But very soon an enhanced version was available, which was sold in real life. The price was just very high.

The Dobbertin HD20 hard-disc is now emulated by the Symbiface III (and RSF3 I guess).

The proty-type interface of an interface for four floppies and Vortex F1-D compatibility is running 100% perfect. It was created by Hans Hübner. I can't provide any link here, they tend to get deleted, so better I don't take that risk to loose the complete post. But you can PM me and I can give you his email address. Actually he probably will appreciate somebody who is interested in it. I love this interface, it allows to copy from HxC to 3", 3.5" and 5.25" floppys without plugging drives all the time.

No, it was never available and sold.
We already had a thread here about it some time ago.

Thats a shame. A few months ago i read both the introduction in the Schneider CPC International and some numbers later the review of the thing and the actual pricing. I really though it was actually available back in the day :o

At least one was sold - or given to a person in Germany. I talked to this guy a long time ago. But to be precise he never showed me the unit. Well, I didn't ask to see it - because it's just another 8088 computer with single floppy.

hmm, I wonder if there is a good way to make a new version then... not just a network or serial cable or terminal emulator.  Ultimately though likely only me that is interested in such an oddity.  I'd think maybe a vga card could be made that is mapped directly as a CPC ROM, and the CPC can periodically look at that ROM and update the screen - like the BBC PC Emulator does.  Sounds bad.

For this you could have a look at this:

Though it's already >20 years ago.

*EDIT* Oops, sorry, it wasn't possible to attach graphic cards, only I/O based stuff, no memory mapped I/O.
