I am uploading a (edited) playthrough of Spindizzy. It's played with infinite time though, I can't see how its possible without it. I was stuck on one screen for fucking ages (I'm gonna upload an outtakes video after all the regular playthroughs are uploaded).

Here's part 1. Part 2 coming shortly.

MEDUSAAAAAAA !!!! (she s staring at you....)  :P

Nice music choice dude... I love some old Belladona Anthrax from the 80's.

Also nice isometric game.

Isometric+Mode1 is so much better than the monocolour ones on Speccy.
Still a bit of a shame they so rarely include some shadows for the sprites.

I know this would have needed a lot of extra resources and CPU and perhaps even RAM but still... it would really help with those 3D iso games.

I quite liked Revolution.

weren't those games designed to be played with a trackball ?
I guess something using the PLUS' analog port could be fun.

Isometric doesn't get the love it deserves theses days.

Spreading the Disease by Anthrax is my favourite metal album.

I agree, Mode 1 when done right is mostly better than Mode 0. The only downside is the lack of colour, but personally, I prefer the colour trade off to detail and pixel precision.

MacDeath

most of those isometric games were somewhat puzzle games so the precision of mode1 was great.
Sadly not always well ported from Speccy.

Marblemadness is quite disapointing.

one issue here with spindizzy :
Perhaps they could have implemented a way to better know where you can go on the border of the screen.
like tiles in dithered black to indicate it goes further : think like the fog of was in many games like warcraft or heroes of might and magic...

But yeah just look at the map, lol...

I sometimes wonder why almost no demos use some isometric animations... are there any things in modern demos ?

Sorry to pollute your topic...
I was quite impressed by this NES game at the time :

Snake Rattle 'n' Roll (NES) Complete: Part 1/2

But yeasss, NES has it easier on sprites and scrolls...
the "Mode1" attributed tiles for the backgrounds, and the "Mode1" hardsprites with multiple palettes as well.

Funny : you can sometimes see some "attribute clashes" with the bachground due to the limited "4 colours per characters" and the obliques of the isometric.

A.I.R !!!

Anthrax... I am the Law! Great band!
