Quote" ... A new project from the creators of Toki and Mighty S.Fighters, beat'em up project "Mighty Renegades", inspired by the "Renegade" genre for its graphics and atmosphere and games of the old time... Multiple levels, bosses at each lvl, and blue blood for the fragile people... "

Why... The original Mark Jones graphics look so better.

Maybe for the pleasure to make his own thing inspirated by a game he loved... Instead of doing simplistic basic game or the same platformer again and again in 64k

Well, I also prefer when a new game is not another platformer with tiny, squared-shaped sprites...

...but that can be done with 64K or 128K!  ;D

I wish more modern developers took the Saboteur approach. Bigger and more realistic sprites, more moves from the characters, maps where you can get lost... I think you all know what I mean!

Can we be a bit more original than starting every game title with 'Mighty' please? :D

I do like the look of the new graphics, and I'm a big fan of the 1987 version. Just because a new version of a game comes out doesn't mean you can no longer play the original.
I still play Elite's version of Ghosts N Goblins for example. It's okay to enjoy both. :)
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

What was said above, plus......

Big thumb up for the fun of doing this!  ;D
My personal website: https://norecess.cpcscene.net
My current project is Sonic GX, a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog for the awesome Amstrad GX-4000 game console!

You can already play to Renegade with scrolling and extra content.

His own thing? This looks more like a hack with great graphics removed...

Some day, I might start working on Mighty Vespertino .. or Mighty Electro Freddy?
** My website ** Some music

My hardware: ** Schneider CPC 464 with colour screen, 64k extension, 3" and 5,25 drives and more ** Amstrad CPC 6128 with M4 board, GreaseWeazle.

No, this is his own thing with the GFX he made and code he wrote. I don't see the problem to not like the stuff but i must say i don't understand your approach.

If the "Mighty" prefix emphasize a game (original or remake) has Chibi style, it kinda makes sense. I like it. Maybe other devs stick with this convention as well.  :D

Sorry, but these are not their graphics, just compare the background. It's just a printed GGP instead of a B20 on the subway car.

I don't understand your approach too. I'm just not keen on seeing great games destroyed.

I understand you point now , maybe he didn't choose the best screenshot about this project. The only thing i can say is he's building the project from scratch with his own GFX and code like he made in MSF recently.

All the better if it's a new game. But for now, I don't see the point in showing something that degrades the original.

Good luck!

You do know that nobody is forcing you to play it, right?

Please, not this kind of boring answer, read a thousand times on stupid social networks.

Says the one guy who's done but nothing but complain about an upcoming new release.

Now that's boring and predictable.

I'm all for new games on the CPC and I wish this production well. However it is a strange choice simply because the original CPC version was/is fantastic and the original is one of the best games on the CPC.

But it's up to the devs and I'm looking forward to their release.
6128 for the win!!!

I'd agree with you but it was far from perfect. It lacked the over the shoulder throw (The 48k Spectrum also lacked this but the 128k had it) and obvious scrolling, not that the lack of scrolling was a deal breaker.

So I'm interested to see how these are implemented, if they are. :)

All new games are welcome! from basic games, typical platformers of 64k to "Mighty" versions of old games. The point is about keeping Amstrads alive and kicking ..

While I appreciate the hard and mostly unpaid word by modern developers, I wish they would pause the Rick Dangerous approach for awhile and try some Bruce Lee, Saboteur or even Sir Fred inspired sprites for a change.

Oh I'd love a Bruce Lee remake, or even a Bruce Lee 2 port for the Amstrad! :D
