Will take a listen of these when I get home today. I still prefer the sound of the SID over the AY, for me it sounds warmer and less harsh.

Oh, you surely mean it vice versa. I prefer the AY too.

hehe no , SID all the way for me.

The Ghostbusters and Wizball music on the C64 really hooked me. Listening to the same tune on both the AY and SID, most of the time I prefer the SID.

Hi,

TastefulmrShip, "Autumn is calling" is not a CPC tune but a Speccy one. But the AYC sounds very well on CPC :-).

Yeah, it's an amazing tune; thanks for putting me straight.

Maybe we should consider converting more ZX tunes to CPC; from personal experience (using VT-II & STarkos) it's a simple matter of dropping each note down 2 semi-tones. Though, I'm pretty sure not all tunes will conform to this overly-simple rule.

Alternatively, of course, we could just use AY-player on CPC! Voila! Instant MUSIC-DISK! ^_^

**** Evil BAD SANTA double-post alert! ****

After a rather boring Sunday of downloading 8-bit albums, catching up with MLP:FiM (an Applejack ONLY episode? Why?), the 'comedy' New Girl (I'm sorry, but Zooey Deschanel in underwear is compulsive viewing), my recent Bubblegum Crisis/Crash downloads and starting my marathon Urusei Yatsura TV series viewing, I decided to make another 'mix' of CPC music.

This time it's the music from my original post... minus the Spectrum one!

@SyX: Looks like your Kickstart ROM isn't fitted properly, try removing it and re-fitting it. If that fails, you might have a dodgy drive in that Amiga of yours :)

In case the Amiga B-drive doesn't work: Lift keyboard 25 cm, let it fall! Now everything will work perfect  :o

Oooo, that's my solution for the C64 too, except you should let it fall about 25 metres, whether it worked before or not :)

Bryce.

SyX

Bryce, is that your trick for getting new SIDs for your sound card??? ;D

Well, my friend, I must admit your knowledge in hardware is way superior to anybody else. I have to get one of the test C64 from ebay, then I will check out your "hardware fix" at the next meeting in the mountains  ;)

Eheheheheh :D :D
That (25cm, not m) was actually the solution to many STs, too. Wtf, all manufacturers did the same shite back then?
