CPCE 1.71!
CPCE is a freeware Amstrad CPC emulator for DOS, DPMI and Win32 platforms programmed in 100% assembly language (I286 for DOS and I386 for DPMI and Win32) by CNGSoft. It's intended to be small but rich and fast but powerful, and features reasonably accurate emulation of standard CPC hardware (Z80 CPU, ROM and RAM, video and audio output, tape deck and disk drives), support of digital tape formats (WAV, VOC, CSW, TZX and CDT), rasters, many video effects, digital speech, integrated debugger, internal ZIP file handling, drag and drop, game recording and replaying, netplay, YMP (YM music player), CPC to PC (and viceversa) file transfer tools, etc.
The latest CPCE version is 1.70 71 and was released in December 20th 28th 2006, and its major new features are the 6 KB sector support of (required by many protected disc games such as "Double Dragon (Mastertronic)" and "The Addams Family") and configurable turbo mode (up to 576K RAM and 272K ROM24 MHz, that allow it to run just like the TREX's SymbOS GUI at full performance; CPCE for DPMI now includes an internal DPMI extender (PMODE 3.07) . There are also bugfixes for overscan wrapping in DOS and several bugs hardware ports ghosting (such as corrupted graphics used in CPCE for DOS during RAM banking or rare structure corruption after a FDC formatHermol's XMAS2006 bugged intro) have been fixed.
