A game was ported from the PC to the CPC, Plus or GX4000?

Then please add it to this new category:

Not  a huge lot of them... depends if it is an unofficial clone game or cross dev or real proper port.

Color Line was sort of a port.

Many/some french games were cross devs, so the CPC version would have graphics largely inspired by CGA version.

UBI soft did some such Mode1 games.

skateball and many others.

CPC is even better than CGA because of the raster /extra colours...

Also night hunter, Iron Lord, back to the golden age and so on... I guess, or not.

Le Maître des Âmes
seems to have been released only on PC and CPC actually...

Le Maître des Âmes (1987) screenshots - MobyGames

but was perhaps also released on ST I guess. oh shi... it was...

It's not about cross development, it's about having a game on PC, then later on there is a port to CPC.  :)

That may be of interest:

yeay, they did a patch on the PC version so it could have the CPC version graphics...

Those CPC/CGA games were fun, it enables to see the sort of graphics a well used Mode1 could produce.
CPC has the upper hand because of its far better palette options

CPC :
= can change every inks, not just black, no fooking "fixed palettes of death"...
= easier to have rasters as well...
=27 colours is better than 16 and having only one grey is not so bad in 4 colours mode.
=actual soundchip
=could "resize" the screen

But the "classic" CGA config PC also had some tricks up its sleeve :
= 512k RAM... really.
=8mhz
=mouse could be great if had one
=cheapass 5"1/4 or 3"1/2
= 16bit dev team... really a lot more content. the 16bit american games were here !
= real CGA monitors actually had a good picture quality.
=SCUMM like games... snif.
=freaking RPGs like Might & Magic III or Eyes of the Beholder...

Capitan Trueno , was a really well realised game . Thought it worked very well on the Amstrad if I remember correctly.

TFM

Was there a PC version of it?

Amiga & Atari ST prehistorik 2 weren't released. I remember preview in the french mag "Joystick". According to Titus ST port should have parallax scrolling.

When i discovered capitan trueno on PC, i thought Amiga/ST were planned too.

I must admit I was always surprised that only PC and CPC versions were released. It is so obviously a 16bit game squeezed into the CPC, the missing st, Amiga and megadrive versions were something of a mystery.

Well, Amiga and ST can't do all that what a CPC can do!  :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
